AW will be teaching along side Isa Rodrigues, Owyn Ruck and the amazing crew of Saipua at Worlds End Farm for a deep exploration of wool and natural dye. Participants will spend three days/two nights gaining a visceral understanding of the natural materials and their sources. We’ll examine raising Icelandic sheep, the processing of wool, and basics of felting, as well as the foraging and use of local natural dyes for coloring wool. No prior experience required; we ask participants to come with an open mind to enable a deeper connection with the land, animals, materials, and fellow participants.
On February 10th at 1:30PM, AW will be teaching a weaving workshop at the Yale Art Gallery in conjunction with the exhibit Small-Great Objects: Anni and Josef Albers in the Americas. It is open to the public but registration is required.
AW just returned to NYC after a two month residency at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, where she had the opportunity to weave on Anni's looms that made their way from the Bauhaus to the Foundation.
